Scott Ray came to Peterson Ray & Company in 1986 and presently has over twenty–four years experience in the graphic design field. In 1994, Ray was named a principal of the company. Ray has worked with corporations such as Blockbuster, Brinker International, Hunt Oil, Pegasus Solutions, Nortel, Frito–Lay, CompUSA, Texas Instruments, FMC Energy Systems, CitiCapital and Centex Corporation. Ray has also worked with colleges and universities such as Southern Methodist University, The University of Texas at Dallas, The University of Dallas, Virginia State University and Bucknell College.
Many of Ray’s works can be found in numerous national and international design publications. Several of his posters were chosen in 1997 by the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (Museum of Decorative Arts) to hang in their collection. Two of Ray’s posters were also finalists in the World’s Most Memorable Poster competition judged in France. The Library of Congress also has one of his posters in its permanent collection.
Ray is a 1982 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a BFA in advertising design. For the past ten years he has served on the board of directors of the Dallas Society of Visual Communications. He is presently teaching graphic design at Collin County Community College and has also taught at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
